7 Rivers in 5 Days
So im one of the lucky few to already have my hands on a brand new FLUID KAYAKS Bazooka already over here in Europe. At first a little scared of having to learn a new boat in a big unfamiliar environment, i took it for a spin on my local run Graura to get a feel of it. Having come from the solo range, i'm glad to see its still as forgiving and stable. It was a super easy boat to just jump in and feel good and easy making your moves. For a boat of its size i'm also super impressed with its speed. Its got a nice displacement nose that keeps its predictable when bouncing of stuff and boofing easy while the rails start at your hips so its still really carvy. The new outfitting is also really comfy, which at 6"1' i'm stoked about! Only downside i can see so far is for a Huckers toy the outfitting may be a little fragile. Time will tell.
STOKED! Unwrapping the first Bazooka to Europe at RokXAT!
So after arriving here in norway a couple of weeks back, i was at last free to escape my new job in Oppdal to go hit some of the oh so good runs in the area. Norway is amazing for those of you who have never been. It has totally changed the game of running big stuff for me. Norway is this big beautiful, open landscape with solid bedrock that forms amazing rapids, slides and waterfalls (It also tends to create some very sticky ledge holes!) However with excellent access to almost everything compared with my previous home of the last 6 years, BC, Canada, its just too easy! It seems in BC if you want something bad enough you usually end up walking a long way, beating your way through devils club or down some deep, dark, cold box canyon. Totally a game changer!
