The Island was a busy, busy place with all the families making the trek down for easter so we were lucky to find a few reasonable breaks without too many surfers.
As there were less nominees than spots on the team it was a relaxed weekend with only one heat taking place on the Saturday. During the judging phase it was discovered that the official 2008 World Cup rules are an absolute shambles. For example, a competitor would actually score more points by completing a Pan Am and a separate Back Stab rather than by combining the two into a Bread and Butter combo that would then be scored as a 'Trophy move".
